First coding unit in 3-5: block-based, unplugged, or both?

If you are introducing coding to students who have never done it, where do you start? Do you open with unplugged activities (algorithms, sequencing games) before moving into Scratch or another block tool, or jump straight to the screen?

What would you do differently next time?
